Barleythorpe is an outstanding conference and training venue in the East Midlands offering over a wide range of training courses and conference facilities to local and national businesses. Set in beautiful Rutland countryside, close to the stunning Rutland Water nature reserve, Barleythorpe contacted us to discuss the internet and marketing strategy for their organisation.
Project
Barleythorpe, who are part of the EEF East Midlands & Mid Anglia had an existing web presence but the management team decided that their current solution did not meet their branding, marketing and measurability criteria and a new solution was required. The challenge to Auburn was to develop a site that promoted both the conference facilities and the training courses, including a complex range of courses that the organisation offered, placing them as one of the leading centres in the East Midlands.
The user centric brief meant that visibility in the search engines and easy accessibility of course information was of uppermost importance. Measurability was also a key, to enable the management team to see the bookings made and the return on investment that was produced from the website.
Solution
The project began with the setting of business led objectives, following on to analysis of keywords and phrases that users were typing into the search engines. From there a design was produced that followed their branding guidelines. The heart of the site, a course diary and booking system was specified and produced, allowing easy access to course information. RSS feeds were also set up to make distribution of the data to 3rd parties much easier.
The solution is a fresh, easy to access website that is professionally branded and appeals to the target market it is designed for. The site which was launched over the Christmas period had immediate impact and even had visitors on Christmas day. Since then the site has produced a good level of bookings and enquiries which is growing.
